Why it’s worth your time
Shopify Sidekick is an AI assistant embedded directly in the Shopify administration interface. It can answer questions using the store's own context, surface relevant performance information, generate product descriptions and campaign copy, create collections or discounts, and guide merchants to the correct setting. More importantly, it can perform scoped work. A merchant can describe a theme adjustment or workflow in plain language, review the proposed result, and approve the change without manually navigating every screen.
Sidekick also talks to Shopify Flow, turning plain requests into automations for tags, fulfillment, alerts, and inventory chores. Approved app extensions can place their own safe actions in the same conversation. Crucially, the merchant still reviews changes before they land. Nobody wants to wake up and discover that an enthusiastic chatbot put the entire winter collection on a 90 percent discount. Copy and analysis still need judgment, and a heavily customized Shopify store remains a heavily customized Shopify store. Sidekick simply removes a surprising amount of the small administrative grit.

I can ask it to create a collection, draft a discount, adjust a theme, inspect performance, or build a Shopify Flow automation in plain language. Changes still come back for approval, which is exactly where I want the boundary. The generated copy needs editing and apps still add complexity, but repetitive admin work finally has an exit.”
