Suno is an AI music platform that turns a written prompt, lyric sheet, melody, or recorded idea into a complete song. Version 5.5 places more emphasis on personal style and production control than earlier versions, which often felt like impressive but anonymous genre imitation. Voices lets creators establish a recurring vocal identity, while My Taste uses listening and creation preferences to steer new results. Custom Models can be trained around a creator's own eligible tracks, including music made outside Suno, so future generations can begin from a more specific musical vocabulary. Studio tools then allow sections to be extended, replaced, rearranged, or developed beyond the first generation.
A rough lyric or hummed phone memo can become a structured track before the original idea has time to become embarrassing. That speed is intoxicating. Precision is the tax: consonants sometimes crackle, singers change character halfway through, and a carefully requested arrangement may return wearing entirely different trousers. Add Voices and My Taste, and suddenly the system is responding to an identity rather than a paragraph of genre soup. I still hear the occasional brittle consonant or vocal choice that ignores the brief, which is maddening when the composition is otherwise there. Even so, getting from a half-sung phone memo to something with structure and momentum remains a ridiculous creative rush.”
